speech

Why we should have class trips to different countries
Did you know that it took 20 years and 20,000 workers to create the Taj Mhal? How would you feel standing in Agra, India looking at the real thing and learning this fact? I strongly believe that we should have class trips to different countries. We could see and learn new languages, cultures and histories. We can see important landmarks and learn about their architecture. Lastly we can compare our school with others from all over the world and see that ‘other’ school in real life.
If you go to different countries you could learn the amazing history of that country. For example in Japan a huge tsunami and earthquake caused massive economic dislocations and losses of nuclear power in 2011. Imagine seeing what’s been rebuilt after this. Secondly Sri Lanka won the cricket world cup in 1996 and the 2002 ICC championship trophy; we could learn all about Sri Lanka and cricket. Did you know the oldest book in Japan dates back to 1 AD, think of seeing it in Tokyo museum?
Did you know the Empire state building is 443m high! If you and your class went on a trip to an important landmark, you would experience the real thing. Firstly did you know the Eiffel tower is 301 meters high, think of learning this fact right in front of it? You would remember it more. Secondly did you know the Burj Kalifa in Dubai is 830m high and it took 22,000,000 hours and 110,000 tons of concrete to build?! Imagine seeing this architectural marvel and learning that the idea started from a cigarette box. Could you imagine getting to talk to some architects who were part of it?
I think that if we have class trips to different countries we should compare schools in that country with ours and see what’s new and what we could do. For example, in the USA Spaced learning is new. In spaced learning children don’t know what’s coming next, like whether they are doing writing and quickly change to art. What if we tried this in New Zealand? Wouldn’t it be great to try what other schools do?

Overall we should have class trips to different countries because we can learn history, architecture and we can compare schools and take back some information to help us make changes. If I hadn’t travelled the world how would I know how to say bye in a different language for example in french we say au revoir.

Cyber bullying

Once upon a time a long long time ago when cave men lived on earth tigers ruled the world. But technology then was as good as now. The cavemen had wifi in fact the internet was called tiger net and Netflix was Tigflix. Everyone was friendly on the internet until... An unknown user hacked into someone's T-mail account and deleted everything and that's how cyber bullying started. 1 year later the problem had got worse now 4365 cavemen and 19672 other animals had been bullied and 665 animals and cavemen had become bullies. So the tiger government locked all T-mail until the person who hacked showed himself. Eventually, there were too many bullies so the world had too much radioactivity and everyone died except for 2 people then the univerese reset. The end

For the birds

One day there was a pigeon the pigeon was just about to settle on a calm power line. When another pigeon came they had a little argument. Soon another pigeon came and another and soon there were about 15 of them. Then a crane came the crane was on a power post and squawked to them and asked them if he could play with them. The pigeons started to make fun of him. He went over to them and sat in the middle. But he was so heavy that he had pulled the power cord down with the birds. The one of the pigeons pecked at him but he did not fly instead he went upside down. So to get him off the pigeons pecked his toes. The one of the pigeons saw that if he fell off they would fall up. But it was too late they flew up in the air and landed with no feathers they were so embarrassed.

A cloudy lesson

Once upon a time when the clouds were shapes, there was a boy named Ben he was finally old enough to be a cloud blower. His grandfather took him up the mystical tower. The tower towered above the clouds into space. They went up the stairs which twisted around and around. When they got to the top they saw a metal bubble blower.

Ben's grandfather showed Ben how to blow a cloud. "Whoosh" ,a shapeless cloud came out of the metal bubble blower. Then it was Ben's turn he. Heaved in a lot of air and blew out. Out came a tiny little cloud "woosh". Ben was disappointed. Then Ben's grandfather showed him how he took a deep breath and pushed the air out like a balloons air coming out. Ben try again but this time he put his mouth up to the hole and blew and blew and blew. Soon after that" CRACK "Ben had broken the cloud blower.

He was slowly going down down down SMASH it landed on the floor. Ben' grandfather helped Ben up , Ben was holding the squished cloud blower in his hands. When Ben's grandfather saw it he was disappointed, disheartened. Then Ben got an idea he fiddled and foddeled with it then he showed his grandfather it looked like a star. He blew it the out came a star it was the first time a non shapeless cloud came out. Everyone was super duper ultra mega happy. They blew shapes until sunset. Every one lived happily ever after. The End

The catch

Once upon a time there was a boy named Siva from a small village in the south. Siva had a green hat and white baggy pants; he also has a tiny bit of face paint. The village was in need of fish so they sent Siva to catch fish.
Siva had only caught one he was very unhappy, when suddenly 'snap'! He got up and headed towards the sound he saw an orangey red fox caught in a trap. At first he hesitated then he cut the vine with his knife. The fox looked scared. Then when the fox was out suddenly the fox attacked him now he was scared.
 The fox went to his fish and got it and went through the thorny bushes. Then it was Siva turn to go through the thorn bushes; leave his village. When he got through he had to climb up the tallest mountain in the continent. Half way there he lost his hat but he was determined. When he got to the top he went back down the other side;
At the bottom he saw an ocean full of fish. He was amazed, he was happy. Then the fox gave him a stick to fish with. When he finished fishing he brought back all the fish and gave one to the fox. Then the fox disappeared in a fury of dust and ash. THE END

Clock tower writing

The girl in the clock tower’s name was Lola. She had brown hair like silk and brilliant blue eyes. She was always wanted to go outside the clock tower. She wondered if anyone could save her.

One month later a prince came to the tower searching for a bride. The prince's name was Andy, he had blond hair and dark brown eyes. He was a prince, engineer, dancer, magician and racer. He also had a knight named sir Fartsalot, ask for every girl in the town to come to his castle.

A woman said that there was a beautiful girl in the tower. The prince wanted to go up the tower so he climbed up the 100 stairs without difficulty. And when he got to the top he saw her. He was awestruck, he just wanted to kiss her. He asked her why she couldn't go out of the tower, she said that her dress was a gear so if she stopped the town would stop and be lifeless.

Then the prince had a wonderful idea; he went straight to the castle to find some metal, an electric box with a plug point and a gear. Then he went straight back at the speed of sound. When he got to the tower he told sir Fartsalot to bring the gear and metal. When they got to the top Andy powered up the electric box, then moulded the metal into a pole; he put the pole through the gear and plugged in the pole. He told Lola in a serious tone to get out of the gear place and put the pole in exactly where she was. So when she got out of her place the town froze, even Andy.

So she put the gear in and poof! Everything around her came to life, she was overjoyed. 3 months later Andy and Lola were married. They all lived happily ever after.

News article, THERE ARE MORE Planets like earth

Hello I was looking at a news article and I found out that there could be life on another planet it's not too hot not to cold. We don’t know what the atmosphere is made of but if it is oxygen and some other earth gases it could have life on it the Gliese 581G lies 20 light years or about 120 trillion miles away from Earth. It is about three and a half times the size of earth, slightly wider and seems to have the same gravity as earth. There’s one tiny difference one year is about one month and 7 days. If you want to look at the clip look here ---->https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADFeSFkgwUI&feature=player_embedded.

EOTC week

On EOTC week it was Thursday and it was GTT (garden to table). We didn't start that yet, first Ms.Cooper did the roll, and I was really jumpy because my mum was here. Ms.Cooper said we had to do a picture of Rangitoto Island out of pastel. She showed us a few pictures of Rangitoto island and we got started we also needed to smudge it a lot. My mum did one to in the end my mums one was awesome and mine looked ok.
After that Miss Cooper showed us a few pictures of some decorated boxes and said we had to make some to. I was really excited about it. I had to choose someone to be my buddy so I chose Mustafa and dragged him to my desk and we chose a COKE bottle. I thought we should do a cylinder version of the world. Mustafa agreed so we started to make it, half way through my mum thought we should put feathers on the bottom of it I thought it was a good idea Mustafa also thought it was to. In the end it looked like a rocket ship. Then we started to decorate an ice cream box with minni frittata in like 20 different languages. Then we covered it in green wrapping my mum helped me with that. Then we had finished it.
After we made the boxes we started GTT (Garden To Table). My mum had to go home I don’t know why she left. We started GTT so I got all the things we needed it said I had to get knives so I got some but it turned out we only needed 1. Then we all got the rest of the things. Roman, Alexia, Beth and me we were all in a team. Beth started chopping the herbs while Alexia measured the butter. Me and Roman played tic, TAC, toe with the flower until Alexia was finished. When Alexia finished we started mixing the herbs with the butter and flower to make the dough. We all started rolling the dough lightly so that the butter wouldn’t melt. When we finished rolling it we put it in the oven to make…….. LAVENDER SHORTBRED.
Then most of us made bags that smelt like lemon it was harder than you would think it is. Miss.cooper did the roll and we all went home. THE END
This is a true story.
